When Mack was only 2 months old he found himself in the middle of the I-10 freeway just west of Tempe.
Only Mack knows how he got there, although it seems unlikely that such a small sickly pup could manage to put himself there.
Witnesses on the way to a baseball game (one dressed in a team uniform) stopped to help. They watched helplessly as a semi truck with 2 loaded flatbeds went over the pup. They feared the worst, but after the truck passed, the pups rolling body righted itself and he scampered into the brush at the side of the freeway.
Bruised and frightened "Mack" survived and lives a less exciting but happy existence with the family that adopted him. He joined a female Lab mix and a few cats at his new home. His favorite pastime is to sit on the dock at sunrise and watch the ducks that swim by.
